Borrowed a demo board for two weeks from Salt water wine Surf shop (thanks Porky and Dobbo!!)and just placed an order for a 9'2". This board whilst pulling some strange looks also pulled off some great rides..turns on a dime and nose rides better than anything else I have ridden. I may not be the best surfer on the planet but this board allows me to surf above my ability and actually move up to the nose and stick like glue! I am sure when the Duke put a fin into that wooden log people on the beach said that it would never work or that the thruster was a gimmick...hang on for the ride this board is revoloutionary and I can't wait for that next surf!! The surfing Pelican lives on a new deck!!!

I have used my Meyerhoffer 9 in waves to 2 metres. Its loose and fast. Once you get your head past the fact that you have no real midrail and you just ride the board it all opens up for you. Its very light and responsive turning from the tail, has smooth rail to rail transition and holds good speed when noseriding. The nose is a real platform in front of you and is always enticing you forward. When you are on the nose it has good stability and rail control. Overall, a fun surfboard with plenty of exciting qualities to keep you interested.

Just purchased your 9’-2” Meyerhoffer epoxy at my local surf shop (on the outer banks of NC at The Pit @ Kill Devil Hills (thanx goes out to Steve) have fallen head over heels in love with this board. I have been riding an Infinity 9’-0” cluster fiberglass longboard for some time now, loving that board since I bought it a few years back. But this board of yours is SO very different in its feel. It definitely IS like riding a shortboard while on the tail (turning this board is effortless) & a noserider while on the nose (which DOES jack your speed incredibly in doing so). I’ve even sank the nose a time or two to have it recover in leiu of pearling like my other boards have always done. I’ve only ridden it on small waves thus far, but with (hurricane)Bill headed our way later in the week here, I’m looking forward to getting’ out in some bigger swells to give this magic wand a try. Thanx so much for havin’ the balls to go where no one before has truly gone in developing a dream into a reality! ‘Hope you keep on trekkin’ & comin’ up with new board designs as well as other ideas to improve our daily lives, Thomas! PS - as for all those that view this new design as something less than innovative & groundbreaking....don't knock it until you've actually ridden one. Go ahead....BE different, be open to change.Change is good, change is inevitable (after all, life is about flowing with the changes)! If it isn't FUN, then why are you doing it (surfing, that is)?

The Meyerhoffer design is unique and a great board to surf. I had my firt surf on one at Manly this morning, in 2-3ft waves and found that it was easy to paddle onto waves and perform smooth turns like a short board. At first it was challenging to walk up to the nose, but after a few falls i finally got there. Surfing all different types of boards is definately a great way to improve your surfing. The Meyerhoffer worked my core muscles, which is great, and i cant wait to try it again!

Tested the 8-0 and the 9-2 over the weekend. The 8-0 was instant gratification, hooked in quick on steeper faces, very fast and lively. As a short-boarder I almost hate to admit it, but I had more fun in steep beach break conditions than on my usual quad or fish. Very agile and quick, high lines, bottom turns, scamper to the nose and back. Frankly, paddled like an 8-0 and surfed like a 6-0, making sections with ease, a winning combo. Another pleasant surprise was paddling in the "waist" of the board, which allowed for deeper, stronger strokes, rather than reaching around a more beamy traditional longboard with the usual bear hug. The 9-2 took a couple sessions to get used to and find the sweet spot, but I’m not a long-boarder and I adapted well by the second outing. Everything was just a little more drawn out and deliberate on the longer equipment. First sesh was in clean bowls and given the volume in the rear I was shocked how well it gripped the face, with the nose elevated and allowing less drag than a straight edged board. I took a deep back-door high line on an overhead left bowl and held my breath; came out clean and dry, didn't bat an eyelash--like a light bulb went off in my head, whoah! In bumpy overhead conditions for the second session it trimmed and sliced with ease and got up to speed instantly. Again, no perling and confidence growing with each turn. Turned sloppy, lurchy rights into a skate park. It also surfed off the tail amazingly well. Kudos to Thomas Meyerhoffer and all those with the courage to try something new.
Eddie Davis from Florida, USA says:
I haven't cared to surf a longboard in years but I don't think this board qualifies as such. I demo'd one this morning in shin-high mush ( after all, this is the Gulf Coast, ) and was blown away. I was fading and doing tight little turns where I know I normally shouldn't be able to. took me a bit getting used to it, but I'm pretty sure I'll never buy a normal longboard again. I actually tried to dig a rail on this but it's so forgiving it was virtually impossible. Thank you Mr. Meyerhoffer for breaking with the traditional rut and doing some awesome forward thinking. For too long we've been stuck with what the industry says we want. Now we know... I love this board and for anyone who has doubts, go demo one and join the 21st century. Peace and Long Lefts... Eddie

Just had a geat surf on the 9'2"meyerhoffer at Bell's Beach. 3 foot occasional bigger sets and the board went unreal. Every lip or section that crumbled I tried to hit or float, it was unreal, like riding a short board it went up so easily. Like Hugh Heffner on his little blue pills I tell ya! It's like riding a shortboard Normally I skirt around the dropping sections on mals but on this I huit em all it was great and you can pump it like a much smaller board. The 7'6 must go berserk.
Russell G. Pascua from South Caro, United States says:
Yeah it looks strange, but good things come in odd packages these days! I got this Meyerhoffer(9'6") about 3-4 weeks ago and have been super stoked, rode it in ankle slappers up to slight shoulder high clean, this board is so killer the way it fits in sections, plus it rides like a little performance board. If you've been looking for hot date and have a open mind towards boards shapes this ride has it all! It took me longer to dial this critter in than any board that I've ever ridden(About 1-2hrs.),most boards I can get dialed in 1-2 waves. I've also ridden it head to head against all of my quiver(Performance longboards single fin, quad and my epoxy 5 finner and my shorties(Squash,Fish,Battails,Swallow,round-pin even my coveted Wing-Keel boards) This thing outperforms everything! All my other boards seem slow and turn sluggish!
Jerry from California, usa says:
I tried the 7'6" and 9'2" Meyerhoffer's this weekend in Pismo, California and WOW, It looked too weird to work at first but then all made sense when I looked at it more, I had to try them and I was blown away. Just like the guy explained, I could catch waves as on a similar sized board but I could turn it a lot easier in the pocket than on anything a similar length. The board s are fast but turn on a dime but then nose ride too !! crazy.. It is the most futuristic board I've ever ridden. There is about four or five differnt things going on in these "things" and Meyerhoffer pulled them all together. Thank you for giving me a chance to ride one now I just need to figure out what board or boards in my quiver to sell so I can get one.
